They are seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead all accounting and finance activities, manage the P&L, control expenses, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities
Own and manage the company’s P&L, ensuring accurate reporting and visibility into performance
Serve as a financial advisor to leadership, providing analysis and recommendations to inform decisions
Support pricing, margin analysis, inventory investment, and vendor negotiations
Translate financial results into clear, actionable insights
Actively monitor and control operating expenses
Build and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts
Track variances and highlight risks and opportunities
Establish and enforce spending controls appropriate for a small organization
Perform and oversee all accounting functions including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and close
Ensure timely, accurate monthly financial statements
Maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP compliance
Manage external partners including auditors, tax advisors, banks, and insurance providers
Manage inventory accounting, COGS, and gross margin analysis
Monitor working capital, cash flow, and inventory levels
Support demand planning and production decisions with financial analysis
Analyze channel, customer, and promotional profitability
Own financial systems, tools, and reporting
Improve processes while maintaining flexibility
Act as the sole finance leader, coordinating with outsourced resources as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
10+ years of accounting and finance experience
Experience managing a full P&L and advising leadership
Strong understanding of inventory, margins, and expense control
Comfortable operating as a one-person finance team
Preferred
Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves financial leader
Comfortable advising without formal decision authority
Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented
Business-minded with strong judgment
