Responsibilities

Plans, organizes and supervises shift production in accordance with priority goals and availability of resources to ensure adequate and timely down stream flow to the finishing department. Performs audits to assure a high quality repair per customer specification and GATX quality policy and procedures
Communicates work area status/activities to the Production Manager(s). Communicates with down stream departments to facilitate smooth car flow
Uses technical experience, expertise and problem solving ability to achieve and maintain a quality repair. Maintains an effective work force by training, counseling and motivating direct reports
Ensure that all necessary administrative work is complete and accurate

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's or associate's degree preferred
3-5 years' experience in fast-paced production environment with preferably 2-4 years mechanical railcar repair experience
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Basic computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
