Structural Dynamics Analyst - Secret clearance

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced Structural Dynamics Analyst to join their team in King of Prussia, PA. In this role, you will perform non-linear structural analyses for reentry vehicles and work on a multi-disciplined team to support product development and analysis activities.

Responsibilities

Perform non-linear structural analyses (stress/dynamics) for reentry vehicles
Produce and maintain models generated from both in-house and commercially available software codes, that simulate hostile encounter events, penetration mechanics, and impact physics
Prepare test plans, post-process test data, and compile test reports
Work on a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems
Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design reviews
Provide review, interpretation, flow down, and implementation of program requirements, and plan tasks and review budget and schedule to reduce cost and cycle time

Required

Understanding of structural analysis through education or equivalent experience
Experience with Structural Finite Element Modeling/Analysis (FEM/FEA)
Experience with Implicit/Explicit finite element modeling like LS-Dyna, Abaqus, NASTRAN 601/701/etc. or equivalent
Experience performing analysis efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activity
Active secret clearance; must be able to obtain a top secret clearance; must be a US Citizen

Preferred

A related Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position
Experience with x-ray deposition, material vulnerability, and other hostile encounter environments
Experience with multi-physics or shock dynamics modeling with tools like LS-Dyna, CTH, etc
Experiencing working to requirements, interfacing with customers, and presenting technical analysis
Experience designing verification and validation tests and correlating models post test
Experience with structural analysis for re-entry vehicles
Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment
Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform analysis
Experience with additive manufacturing
