MoveATech is a robotics company focused on developing rugged robots for challenging environments. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and build electrical systems for robots, collaborating closely with mechanical and software teams to ensure reliability and integration.
Responsibilities
Develop both analog and digital circuitry, including power regulation, signal conditioning, and interfaces for various sensors
Lead PCB design efforts, including schematic creation, layout, prototyping, and system bring-up
Work cross-functionally with mechanical and software engineers to ensure smooth integration of electrical subsystems
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level electrical issues in both lab and field environments
Maintain and document wiring diagrams, harnessing, grounding strategies, and EMI/EMC mitigation approaches
Assist with sensor evaluation and integration, including thermal, optical, RF, and other sensing technologies
Perform reliability testing including thermal, vibration, and EMI assessments, and interpret results for system improvement
Design and produce wiring harnesses, enclosures, and other components to ensure operational durability
Conduct circuit simulations (SPICE or equivalent) to validate analog designs and ensure noise-free, stable performance
Contribute to engineering reviews and maintain thorough documentation of design choices
Support the creation of internal testing protocols and engineering standards for future robotic systems
Collaborate with end users when necessary to guide electrical design requirements and enhancements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Minimum 2 years of experience designing and testing PCBs for embedded or electromechanical systems
Proficiency with PCB schematic and layout software (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle)
Solid understanding of both analog and digital circuit design principles
Experience with microcontrollers and standard communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)
Comfortable using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters, including firmware-level debugging
Hands-on experience with SMD/SMT soldering and rework
Experience building, testing, and troubleshooting wiring harnesses and associated assemblies
Familiarity with SPICE simulations for analog validation, noise, and stability analysis
Preferred
3+ years in hardware-focused product development environments
Experience with hardware that has been deployed in operational or field settings
Knowledge of thermal and EMI/EMC constraints in complex electronic systems
Experience collaborating with embedded firmware engineers or working in C/C++ environments
Familiarity with cable/harness design tools (e.g., SolidWorks Electrical, RapidHarness, Zuken)
Previous experience in startup or early-stage product teams
Demonstrated ability to contribute to scaling engineering processes across operations
