Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering

The University of Vermont is seeking a highly motivated individual for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position in Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate will lead instructional components of a biomedical innovation and design curriculum, teach courses, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, while also contributing to the Center for Biomedical Innovation and collaborating with local healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

Lead the instructional components of a biomedical innovation and design curriculum that spans all four undergraduate years
Teach courses in engineering design in addition to developing and instructing courses in their technical areas of expertise
Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Serve as an instructional leader in UVM’s Center for Biomedical Innovation
Support academic research commercialization and address challenges in rural medicine and environmental sustainability in healthcare
Collaborate with UVM Innovations, Colleges across the campus, and the regional industry to provide experiential learning opportunities for students
Engage with local healthcare providers and collaborate with Vermont’s technology and innovation ecosystem
Strengthen connections to ensure graduates are prepared to lead in biomedical technology and healthcare innovation

Required

Applicants should be able to teach courses in engineering design in addition to developing and instructing courses in their technical areas of expertise
Applicants with backgrounds from across the biomedical engineering field, and particularly those with industry, research, or development experience in biomedical innovation are encouraged to apply
The successful candidate will be expected to teach, advise, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Candidates must provide a statement as part of the application detailing how they, as a faculty member, would enhance the impact of Our Common Ground values at UVM
