Financial Counselor

New Grad, Entry LevelDotHouse Health is focused on providing comprehensive health services, and they are seeking a Financial Counselor to assist patients with insurance benefits and financial assistance. This role involves counseling uninsured/underinsured patients, helping them navigate the application process for MassHealth and private insurance, and ensuring they maintain coverage for reimbursement of services.

Responsibilities
Assist patients with the MassHealth and private insurance application process using mahealthconnector.org
Review MassHealth documentation for updated messaging
Follow-up with patients as necessary
Interview insured and uninsured patients to determine eligibility for state programs and private products
Review and document financial collection eligibility
Verify insurances a week in advance as well as PCP and PCC assignments to patients’ insurance
Help Patient with Medicare Products (Medicare D and C Enrollment)
Assist in performing office support duties, which may include answering phone calls, retrieving messages from voice mail, financial counseling tasks, providing office assistance as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Obtain and maintain Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification
Ideal candidate should possess strong organizational/interpersonal/communications/customer service skills
The ability to work independently and perform multiple activities efficiently in a timely and accurate manner
Knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare/FQHC, Medicaid
Preferred
Associates degree a plus
Previous experience in health facility, insurance coordination role or comparable experience in a health care or managed care organization desired
Candidates that are fluent in speaking & writing in CV Creole & Spanish are encouraged to apply
