Conduct benchtop corrosion tests
Apply various test methods to assist customers solve material related problems
Conduct material failure investigations from collecting background information, investigative laboratory work, and report writing
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Travel and/or field work may be required
Qualification
Required
BS in Materials Science, Corrosion Science, metallurgical engineering or related field
Experience working with hand and power tools
Experience with basic laboratory instruments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A hands-on approach to all project phases
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Preferred
MS or higher in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or a related science. A background or interest in Bioengineering and/or medical device materials is a plus
Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in written reports
Able to motivate and assist others to excel
Laboratory experience including: metallographic sample preparation, optical microscopy, SEM/EDS, digital photography and general sample prep (including portable and stationary power tools for cutting), preparing metallographic mounts, or using electrochemical instrumentation a plus
5 years experience in a materials laboratory environment
