Chief Commercial Officer

Steuben Foods Inc. is seeking a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to oversee the company's entire commercial ecosystem. The CCO will be responsible for driving sustained, profitable growth by integrating Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Customer Success, and Commercialization into a cohesive strategy.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the integrated commercial strategy aligned with corporate objectives and long-term platform growth
Design and own the commercial operating system, including: Revenue planning, forecasting, and pipeline governance Commercial KPIs across acquisition, conversion, retention, expansion, and profitability Deal review, pricing discipline, and margin integrity frameworks
Establish a rigorous commercial cadence (pipeline reviews, forecast calls, account reviews)
Serve as the executive voice of the customer in strategic planning and investment decisions and balance it with both short- and long-term interests of the company
Lead all inbound and outbound sales activities from opportunity origination through contract execution
Implement a structured, repeatable sales methodology suited for complex B2B manufacturing relationships
Drive disciplined pipeline management, forecast accuracy, and deal quality
Lead strategic account acquisition and enterprise-level partnerships
Ensure commercial commitments are executable, scalable, and aligned with long-term value creation
Own the entire post-sale customer lifecycle, including onboarding, commercialization, steady-state execution, retention, and expansion
Establish clear commercialization stage-gates from pilot trials to signed business to first production and ongoing supply
Ensure seamless handoff and collaboration between Commercial, Operations, Quality, and R&D teams
Build structured strategic account management and joint business planning for priority customers
Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and expansion through proactive governance and executive engagement
Act as executive sponsor for key accounts, ensuring accountability and long-term partnership health
Own go-to-market strategy, value proposition development, and commercial narrative
Lead market intelligence, category insight, and competitive analysis to inform strategy and prioritization
Translate customer needs and market trends into clear commercial opportunities
Ensure marketing efforts directly support high quality pipeline creation, sales effectiveness, and customer growth
Position the company as a thought leader and partner of choice in priority categories
Partner closely with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance to ensure commercial strategy is grounded in execution reality
Champion cross-functional collaboration and decision discipline
Influence capacity planning, investment priorities, and platform evolution through demand-driven insight
Uphold a customer-centric, collaborative, data-driven culture across the organization
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary commercial organization
Establish clear accountability, performance expectations, and development pathways
Mentor senior leaders across sales, marketing, customer success, and commercialization
Attract and retain top commercial talent as the organization scales

Required

20+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience with direct ownership of revenue growth
Proven success building integrated commercial organizations in complex B2B environments
Demonstrated ability to translate market insight and innovation into scalable revenue
Strong executive presence with board-level communication skills
Strategic thinker with hands-on execution discipline

Preferred

Experience in food & beverage manufacturing, co-packing, and CPG strongly preferred
