Responsibilities

Lead the design, evolution, and governance of enterprise data architectures aligned with USPTO OCIO and federal standards

Develop and oversee conceptual, logical, and physical data models across enterprise systems

Provide architectural oversight for database design, optimization, and lifecycle management in on-premises and cloud environments

Lead cloud data migration and data modernization initiatives

Define and implement enterprise data governance, metadata management, and master/reference data practices

Architect data quality frameworks including profiling, validation, monitoring, and reporting

Design and support secure data integration solutions, APIs, and enterprise data exchange standards

Embed security, privacy, and DevSecOps principles into all data architecture solutions

Support ATO activities and compliance with federal IT security, privacy, and CUI requirements

Serve as a senior technical advisor to EDAD leadership and USPTO stakeholders

Lead architectural reviews, technical assessments, and design decision forums

Mentor technical staff and promote consistent application of enterprise architecture standards
