Responsibilities
Research and identify relevant grant opportunities that support IT initiatives in municipal government
Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation tailored to ITS projects
Collaborate with ITS staff to gather project details, define funding needs, and ensure proposals meet grantor requirements
Track application statuses, manage deadlines, and handle post-award reporting or compliance as needed
Monitor emerging grant trends in technology and public sector funding to maximize opportunities for the department
Program evaluation on ROI for ITS initiative and reporting and assist with budgeting and forecasting
Creating and updating grant calendar, tracking legislative changes affecting tech funding
Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in public administration, Business, Communications, or a related field (preferred)
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with attention to detail
Familiarity with IT concepts (e.g., software, hardware, cybersecurity) to effectively translate technical needs into compelling proposals
Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office, grant databases, and project management software
Excellent communication and organizational abilities to work independently as a contractor
Proven experience in grant writing or fundraising, ideally in government, nonprofit, or technology sectors (2+ years preferred)
