Senior Program Manager, Energy & Petroleum
AcceleratedPM is seeking an experienced Program Manager to support nationally significant energy infrastructure and petroleum-related programs. Responsibilities
Serve as the overall Program Manager responsible for execution of all program requirements, ensuring responsiveness to government priorities and performance standards
Provide leadership and direction for a multidisciplinary team supporting technical, analytical, and policy-driven initiatives related to petroleum markets, logistics, and infrastructure operations
Plan, organize, and manage program activities including task planning, staffing, schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple concurrent efforts
Monitor program performance against cost, schedule, and quality objectives; identify risks and implement corrective actions as needed
Oversee preparation and delivery of reports, briefings, analyses, and other program documentation for senior government stakeholders
Interface routinely with government program managers, contracting officials, and technical leads to coordinate priorities, address issues, and support informed decision-making
Support planning and execution of emergency preparedness activities, exercises, and scenario analyses related to energy supply disruptions and infrastructure readiness
Manage subcontractors and internal staff, including personnel assignments, performance oversight, travel coordination, and administrative requirements
Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, policies, and quality standards throughout program execution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in management, business, engineering, science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years of experience planning, directing, and managing complex technical or analytical programs, preferably in the energy, petroleum, or infrastructure sectors
Demonstrated background in the petroleum industry, including familiarity with oil markets, crude logistics, storage, transportation, refining, or related downstream operations
Proven experience managing government-facing programs or contracts, with an understanding of federal acquisition environments and performance expectations
Strong leadership skills with experience overseeing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across technical, operational, and administrative functions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief senior stakeholders and produce high-quality program documentation
Ability to operate effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment
Preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credential
Advanced degree (MBA, M.S., or equivalent) in management, engineering, or a related field
Experience supporting DOE, DOD, or other federal energy or infrastructure programs
Background in petroleum logistics, energy security, emergency response planning, or infrastructure modernization initiatives
Familiarity with economic modeling, technical studies, or analytical support related to energy markets or supply disruptions
