Responsibilities
Perform elementary level engineering work and assists Engineer-In-Charge with the review of engineering proposals submitted by other agencies to determine the impact on the NYC sewer and water supply systems, and to ensure that proposed drainage and water supply facilities will be built and/or maintained in conformance with the latest DEP Standards and requirements
Assist the Engineer-in-Charge representing the Division of Site Connection, Green Infrastructure & Plan Review in meeting with the representatives from City and State agencies and Private developer's filing professionals
Under the guidance of Engineer-in-Charge, interact with consulting engineers submitting projects related to Site Connection, Green Infrastructure and Plan Review Sections for proper review and approval in accordance with the Bureau of Water & Sewer Operations requirements
Perform research and respond to written requests for shop drawings and field changes of basic design
Under the direction of Engineer-In-Charge, review site connection applications
Qualification
Required
A baccalaureate degree in environmental, fire protection, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, aeronautical, or materials engineering from an accredited college
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in environmental, fire protection, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, aeronautical, or materials engineering technology and two years of full-time satisfactory experience in environmental engineering work
Preferred
A valid New York State driver's license is preferred
Strong oral and written communication
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
