Responsibilities
Competently performs the items of Fire Protection Designer II
Completes calculations, drawings and specifications related to fire suppression and detection systems for small projects
Oversees entire lifecycle of small project as it pertains to fire protection including layout, permit procurement, field surveys, coordination, creation of fabrication lists, answering an assisting with field generated questions, RFI creation, and as-builts
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
Ability to self QC drawings prior to submitting to peer review
Able to perform calculations and lists on projects
Estimate design hours for projects
Provide basic information to develop change orders/RFIs
Takes responsibility for meeting deliverable deadlines
Able to competently and accurately decipher contract drawings, calculations, and specifications
Able to competently and effectively coordinate projects
An entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done
An ability to work in a collaborative environment with other team members
Excellent working knowledge of fire protection design, building codes, types of equipment utilized in the industry, and system operations
Preferred
Fire Protection journeyman or apprentice experience preferred
NICET II minimum preferred
