Display Technology Engineer

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development and qualification activities of the next generation display technology and products
Manage new display technology development and drive the implementation of critical technology platforms to improve display performance
Be involved in system modeling to assist in design and validation
Work with a diverse and multidisciplinary group of colleagues
Collaborate with multi-functional teams and suppliers to understand design tolerance and sensitivities
Optimize system-level performance based on critical metrics
Validate system designs through engineering builds and design of experiments

Required

Masters and a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
Proficiency in optical design and simulation software for illumination (e.g., LightTools, Zemax OpticStudio Non-Sequential, Speos)
Proficiency with a data analysis and scripting language (e.g., MATLAB, Python, JMP) for modeling, simulation, and test automation
Hands-on experience with lab equipment for optical characterization (e.g., spectrometers, imaging colorimeters, goniophotometers)

Preferred

Ph.D. in a related field
Expertise in light source technology (e.g., mini-LEDs, micro-LEDs)
Experience developing and implementing comprehensive test plans for optical systems
Familiarity with color science, color calibration, and display/lighting metrology standards
Experience taking a hardware product from concept through to mass production
Experience in building compelling hardware or experience prototypes
Strong presentation and communication skills
An eagerness to take on new challenges, learn new skills, and continually develop by staying open-minded & curious
Strong sense of personal ownership, with the ability to comprehensively handle tasks from start to finish independently
