Trade Manager
Buckland is a customer-focused company that has been enhancing global trade for over 70 years. They are seeking a Trade Manager responsible for ensuring U.S. compliance with broker regulations, overseeing the operations team, and leading the Trade team to maintain compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
Responsibilities
Oversee the filing of regulatory submissions including PSC’s and Protests
Monitor and address responses to Requests for Information, Notices of Action, Liquidated Damages and Entry Summary Rejections
Oversee ACE Reconciliation filings
Support with CTPAT related inquiries and process
Manage and develop a team of Trade professionals by providing daily support of regulatory and compliance inquiries
Support the Director in understanding of new regulations and determine impact
Establish benchmarks for audit and ensure entry/entry summaries are filed in accordance with the regulations
Develop people and their understanding of all regulatory matters
Ensure all onboarding of new clients or services meet the compliance standards
Plan and coordinate quality assurance programs to prevent and control deviations in the operation
Establish KPI’s, procedures, standards, and quality systems to improve the operation
Train staff in using relevant quality tools, to continuously improve the process, eliminate waste and increase efficiency
Ability to manage a team
Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports
Assign tasks to team members
Hire and Terminate employees
Assists with training and guidance of direct reports
Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 5 years customs brokerage, regulatory, consulting or similar professional services required
US Customs Broker's License (must maintain yearly status)
Strong knowledge of US Customs Section 232 and 301 tariffs and exclusions and PGA requirements
Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
High level of organization, time management and attention to detail
Advanced MS Office knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times
Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MEX
