Field Engineer

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures
Oversee daily substation construction activities, inspecting work quality including excavation, concrete, rebar, grounding, steel, wiring, and electrical checks
Verify construction aligns with design documents; review inspection reports and resolve non-conformances
Maintain key logs: material tracking, testing/inspection, concrete, and non-conformance
Manage submittals, ensuring materials match approved specs and project schedules
Perform basic surveying and verify line, grade, and dimensions
Record and report daily progress, identifying and addressing deficiencies promptly
Document approved field changes and maintain red-line drawings
Coordinate closely with client quality staff to meet QA/QC standards
Compile operations and maintenance manuals with key contacts and warranties
Support punch list inspections and determine calibration status of testing equipment
Collaborate with project managers and estimators on project support and future planning

Required

Must be a self-starter, hard-working, inquisitive, and be organized and have good interpersonal skills
Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, technical procedures and safety rules
Write daily reports and document project activities
Effectively manage field data to assure activities are conforming to corporate Quality Control procedures. Ensures the effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned project task
Calculate figures and amounts and able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Preferred

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred
Experience in related construction field is preferred
