Administrative Assistant 1/2 - Coastal Region Fire (PCN 10-9891)
The State of Alaska's Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry & Fire Protection, is seeking an Administrative Assistant 1/2 Flex in Palmer. This role involves providing essential administrative support for the Fire Protection Program's Coastal Region, including tasks such as processing payroll, personnel forms, travel, procurement, and invoices.

Responsibilities
Provide administrative support for the Division Operations Manager, Administrative Operations Manager, Safety Officer, Fire Staff Officer, Ground Support, Alaska Coastal Dispatch Center, and other staff within the Coastal Region Fire Protection Program
Process payroll, personnel forms, travel, procurement, and invoices
Qualification
Required
Six months of advanced clerical experience. This experience includes work such as Office Assistant 2, Accounting Clerk, and similar classes with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer
Six months of any combination of post-secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced-level clerical experience. (Three semester or four quarter hours of post-secondary education are equal to one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education are equal to one month of experience.)
Six months of entry-level technical experience in one or more administrative functional areas such as human resources, accounting, administration, and procurement. This experience includes work such as Administrative Assistant 1, Accounting Technician 1, Human Resource Technician 1, and similar classes with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer
One year of advanced-level clerical experience. This experience includes work such as Office Assistant 2, Accounting Clerk, and similar classes with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer
One year of post-secondary education from an accredited college (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours equals 1 year)
One year of any combination of post-secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced-level clerical experience. (Three semester or four quarter hours of post-secondary education are equal to one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education are equal to one month of experience.)
Three professional references
This position will require travel 1-5 times annually, within Alaska to attend meetings or trainings
May work towards qualification for other positions utilized within the Incident Command System
Will be required to work or be available during evenings and/or weekends, depending on the need during the fire season (April 1 - August 31 or later)
Preferred
A driver's license is preferred but not required for this position
