The Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) is dedicated to advancing the nation’s dual-banking system and promoting safe financial supervision. The Data Services Intern will work with the Data Services Team to implement data management policies, develop data pipelines, and conduct technology proofs of concept, gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Analyze data flows in CSBS systems and databases

Create conceptual and logical data models

Streamline data engineering processes

Learn industry standard practices for data quality analysis, data catalogs, and data classification

Participate in POCs for data sharing APIs

Qualification

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience with data integration, such as extract, transform, loading (ETL), or application programming interfaces (API)

Knowledge of data integration

Ability to learn new technologies through self-directed learning and research

Diagramming and writing

Due to the nature of CSBS's business in support of state financial services supervision, all CSBS employees have the potential of interacting with confidential information related to the supervision of financial services companies ('Confidential Supervisory Information'). As a result, in addition to general business conflicts of interest, all CSBS employees are expected to disclose conflicts of interest in financial services companies on at least an annual basis and to proactively avoid such conflicts

Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of CSBS information and information systems in accordance with CSBS policies and procedures

Candidate must be in the DC area and able to work in the CSBS office as needed
