Responsibilities
Impacting product design decisions by providing reliable analysis and thermal insight
Leading the design and implementation of thermal solutions
Participating in design reviews and technology investigations
Specification and optimization of thermal control parameters
Definition and guidance of thermal and flow experiments to characterize materials, components and systems
Analysis of system test data and preparation of summary reports
Communication of status and results to cross-functional teams and management
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years thermal design experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with thermal design and validation of data center products, using CAD, CFD, and temperature/flow data acquisition equipment
Deep technical and functional expertise in conduction, convection (natural and forced), and radiation, as well as numeric modeling techniques and concepts
Up to 10% Domestic and/or International travel
Preferred
Practical knowledge of TIMs, heat sinks, heat pipes, vapor chambers, fans and blowers for thermal mitigation
Scripting (e.g. perl, python) and data graphics (e.g. MATLAB, SciPy)
M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Heat Transfer or Fluid Dynamics and 3+ years of experience
