Responsibilities

Train, develop, motivate, and evaluate a competent workforce in cooperation with the management team and under the guidance of their reporting manager

Overall responsibility to ensure that production targets and turnaround time goals are met

Ensure that the team meets safety, quality, and cost control objectives

Contribute to coordination of resources between groups

Provide technical oversight and help with troubleshooting/problem resolution as appropriate

Ensure that equipment and instruments are appropriately maintained, and that lab documentation is well organized and up to date

Oversee communications with other shifts

Contribute to decisions with regard to budgeting and spending for group

Perform other duties as requested

Required

Associates degree or equivalent technical training or experience. (High School Diploma/GED required)

Two to 5 years of direct laboratory experience with demonstrated technical/judgment skills. Must also have demonstrated management or supervisory skills in a laboratory environment

Demonstrated management or supervisory skills in a laboratory environment

Knowledge of standard lab procedures and instrumentation

Able to work well in a production team environment with strong organizational skills

Consistent attention to detail and verbal/written communication skills

Computer skills with laboratory LIMS and instrumentation software

Preferred

BS/BA in a directly related science field or an equivalent combination of experience and coursework

Demonstrated troubleshooting skills

Detailed equipment knowledge for work in area
