Senior Network Engineer

Responsibilities
Network Architecture and Design: Lead the design and implementation of complex network solutions, including upgrading and testing network designs, advising on hardware requirements and configurations, and developing telecommunications circuit specifications. Deliver automated network provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Advanced Troubleshooting and Support: Serve as the Tier 3/4 escalation point for complex network issues, resolving problems involving diverse protocols, topologies, and hardware platforms
Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust network security measures (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, load balancers) to ensure compliance with federal standards and best practices
Documentation and Standards: Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams, SOPs, and system requirements, ensuring clarity and consistency across teams
Technology Evaluation and Planning: Research and recommend emerging technologies and tools to enhance network performance, security, and automation capabilities
Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with IT managers, architects, project managers, and vendors to define project goals, manage installations, and ensure seamless integration of network solutions
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor network performance metrics, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to maintain optimal network functionality
Qualification
Required
Active Secret Clearance
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering
Proficient with networking hardware and infrastructure from vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, and F5
Deep understanding of protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EIGRP, DNS, DHCP, and HTTP/S
Experience with network security technologies and principles
Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, manage competing priorities, and work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams
Preferred
Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP
Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and scripting/automation tools (e.g., Python)
Knowledge of network topography for cloud integration
Experience in large-scale, enterprise-level network environments
