Responsibilities
Serve as an expert in security administration and continuous monitoring for both LAN and cloud environments
Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures to protect computer networks and information
Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards to safeguard organizational data and assets
Analyze logs, perform risk assessments, and respond to security incidents and breaches
Monitor and report on SIEM and EDR event data; maintain comprehensive records of investigated security events and incident response activities
Act as Tier III security support within the agency’s security team
Conduct security assessments for systems, networks, and applications to identify vulnerabilities
Mentor and provide guidance to other security team members on strategies, processes, and technologies
Provide incident response support, threat assessment, and conduct forensic investigations
Collaborate with IT teams to achieve agency security objectives
Create risk analysis documents and reports using complex SQL queries, API integrations, and Power BI
Utilize both blue team (defensive) and red team (offensive) security tools and techniques
Maintain strong documentation and reporting practices for security operations and incidents
Qualification
Required
4+ years of experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, IPS/IDS, security documentation, Office 365 Security, red/blue team activities, and scripting in C/C++, Python, or PowerShell
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience required
Preferred
Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SSCP, or CEH
Security Operations Center (SOC) experience
SQL/scripting automation expertise
