Responsibilities
Design, program, and integrate advanced automation systems, including:
PLC controls (Allen Bradley/Siemens)
SCADA systems
Industrial robotics for welding, material handling, and pick-and-place applications
MES integrations and plant-level data systems
Develop and optimize automated welding solutions to ensure consistent, high-quality weld performance
Engineer automated material handling systems and robotic solutions for production operations
Perform system validation, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization during development and deployment phases
Lead automation projects from concept through installation and commissioning
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, integrators, and equipment suppliers to ensure successful project execution
Oversee plant-level implementation activities conducted by operations and maintenance teams
Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and documentation
Ensure systems are delivered on schedule, meet performance criteria, and conform to safety and quality standards
Qualification
Required
10+ years of automation engineering experience in manufacturing environments
Proven expertise with PLC/SCADA systems
Proven expertise with robotics and robotic welding
Proven expertise with automated material handling
Proven expertise with MES or other factory-level integrations
Strong project management experience, including coordination of equipment installations and vendor activities
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
Demonstrated ability to support both R&D development and production deployment environments
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work on-site in both lab and shop settings; some travel required to U.S. facilities (TX, AL, NE, NY)
