Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and review of federal and state tax filings for exempt organizations, including Forms 990, 990‑T, and 990‑PF
Advise nonprofit clients on complex tax matters such as UBIT, public support testing, and charitable contribution requirements
Interpret and apply evolving tax law to unique nonprofit issues, staying current on developments impacting the exempt organization sector
Manage end‑to‑end client engagements, including planning, execution, quality review, billing, and scope management
Serve as a primary client contact, building trusted relationships and partnering across Sikich service lines to deliver integrated solutions
Coach and develop associates and senior associates through ongoing feedback and hands‑on mentorship
Support practice growth through proposal support, client presentations, and participation in thought leadership or speaking opportunities
Qualification
Required
BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA of EA certification (or progress towards certification)
5+ years of current public accounting experience
Proficiency with computerized tax software and MS Office
Strong client rapport and project management skills
Supervisory experience
Flexible schedule
Ability to service multiple client engagements simultaneously
Strong communication (verbal and written) skills with the emphasis on ability to articulate complex tax and financial information to all levels of clients
