Responsibilities

Drive a Company vehicle and is responsible for inventory, maintenance and safe operation

Get and maintain a commercial driver’s license as determined by company

Complies with standard safety precautions necessary to ensure safety of others and prevent lost-time accidents

On occasion may be required to work in another department as needed

Perform minor painting, cleaning of vehicles, and janitorial duties

Operation and minor maintenance of power equipment for lawn care and snow removal

Ability to progress into a "C" classification Gas Distribution Mechanic within a minimum of 6 months and eventually progress to an "A" classification Gas Distribution Mechanic

Assist co-workers as needed with work on meters, heaters, electronics, miss-digs, and other associated Class A Distribution Mechanic work

Required

Possession of a high school diploma or successful completion of a General Education Development Certificate

Good analytical and organizational skills

Good written and oral communication skills

Possess valid driver's license as determined by the company

Ability to write legibly; operate a personal computer satisfactorily

Ability to work without direct supervision

Possess the necessary physical abilities to perform the various job duties. Must be able to walk up to 5-10 miles per day in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, kneel, walk, climb, push, pull, lift and carry 20-50 lbs., twist, reach above and below shoulder levels, fine finger movements. Must be able to work in climates of extreme cold / extreme heat. Potential exposure to stinging insects / insecticides and possible requirement to be in Respirator Program
