Responsibilities

Responsible for creation/ approval / authorization (release) of technical solutions including justification reports for repairs / reworks and troubleshooting instructions and the identification, explanation, resolution and documentation of anomalies which will be delivered with the aircraft to the design office and the authorities (EASA, FAA or Transport Canada TC)
Involved in all aircraft systems and structure (metallic/composite)
Analyzes all reported malfunctions of aircraft systems/structures and launches trouble-shooting activities
Represents all design offices, subcontractors and risk-sharing partners
Represents the Single Aisle Chief Engineer/Design Office and acts as interface between the design organization and the manufacturing organization
Creates, checks, approves & releases covering technical design solutions
Supports the FAL US from the delivery of A/C sections, via FAL process, flight line activities and up to the ferry flight in all Aircraft related items including the presentation in front of the customer, if needed
Responsible for the creation, validation, approval and monitoring of corrective actions (launch of new modifications, drawing updates, design query notes, improvements and avoidance of recurrent issues)
Responsible for the creation of temporary aircraft definitions (special instructions) in line with airworthiness requirements
Knowledge of internal processes and procedures
Able to use manuals ( Aircraft Wiring list, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalog) for research and verification
Non-conformities (NC's) are written by the production/quality departments or Flight Test Engineers, if they detect any deviations/damages during the assembly process, inspection or production flights
As part of the Liaison Engineering/MAP team, the incumbent will be responsible for specific tasks based on individual skills and experience including, but not limited to, onsite service, managing the cost center, establishing flight clearance prerequisites, training onsite employees in new aircraft design and production techniques, managing, creating and establishing improvements of onsite processes, perform MRB audits, etc. (Bombardier Aerospace Material Review Board (MRB))
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience to obtain delegation from the Design Office to perform engineering activities under MRB
Executes intermediate to complex engineering assignments requiring familiarity with several fields of engineering
Conducts research into various fields of engineering to investigate, re-evaluates and applies obtained results to solve practical problems
Identifies and reports on defects and deficiencies in work done by others. Prepares progress reports
Recommends changes in plans and specifications to suit special conditions
Develops innovative engineering techniques
Generates documentation for approval by others
Reviews sections of documents prepared by others and recommends approval

Required

Bachelor degree in Engineering or related discipline
3+ years of experience or demonstrated knowledge and competency for the level of experience required
Demonstrated knowledge and skill in implementing and using indication, alert and recording systems
Advanced knowledge of engine, fuel, pneumatic, APU, hydraulic, cabin systems, advanced metallic/composite aerospace structure
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems
Knowledge of configuration management rules
Demonstrated success in identifying and solving problems
Ability to function on the basis of self-motivation and self-direction
Demonstrated willingness to work across traditional boundaries
Plans activities on a short and mid-term basis

Preferred

FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification preferred
Catia experience preferred
