Responsibilities
Build and lead a high-impact AI/ML engineering organization; define roles, workflows, and development standards suited for a startup-scale environment
Design and implement agent-based AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, tool-calling, memory, planning, and feedback loops
Actively contribute to building, training, fine-tuning, and evaluating AI models (LLMs, multimodal models, or domain-specific networks), balancing in-house models with SOTA third-party solutions
Design and operate scalable training and inference pipelines, including data ingestion, feature pipelines, experiment tracking, evaluation, and deployment
Evaluate and integrate state-of-the-art closed-source and open-source tools (e.g. foundation models, vector databases, orchestration frameworks) with a strong bias toward pragmatism and production readiness
Implement robust MLOps and LLMOps practices including model versioning, monitoring, drift detection, rollback strategies, and governance
Champion responsible AI principles, data governance, and compliance considerations across model usage, training data, and system behavior
Work closely with product, platform, and commercial teams to translate business problems into scalable AI solutions
Qualification
Required
10+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years leading AI/ML or applied research engineering teams
Strong hands-on experience building AI systems end-to-end: data pipelines, training, fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring
Deep experience with agent frameworks and orchestration patterns (e.g. LangChain, Semantic Kernel, custom agent runtimes)
Hands-on experience with both closed-source and open-source foundation models and tooling
Proven experience setting up training pipelines using modern MLOps platforms (e.g. MLflow, Kubeflow, Azure ML, custom stacks)
Strong understanding of vector databases, retrieval systems, and knowledge-augmented generation
Demonstrated experience leading development organizations that have adopted agentic workflows to augment SDLC practices, including AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, release management, and continuous improvement loops
Experience operating AI systems in production environments with real reliability, latency, and cost constraints
Startup or scale-up experience building AI teams, tools, and processes from the ground up
Exceptional technical leadership and communication skills
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or equivalent practical experience
