Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships in the Des Moines market, making Mercer-Zimmerman the go-to agency for lighting and controls solutions
Product Expertise: Stay up to date with regular manufacturer trainings, updates, and sales calls to ensure a deep understanding of the innovative lines we represent
Product Demonstrations: Conduct engaging product trainings, either in the field or at manufacturer facilities, to showcase our wide range of cutting-edge lighting solutions
Consultative Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering superior solutions tailored to meet design specifications, budgets, and timelines
Team Collaboration: Partner with our inside team to advocate for clients throughout the bidding process, submittals, order management, and installation phases
Qualification
Required
Self-motivated and collaborative sales professional
Familiarity with the construction industry
Ability to collaborate with team, manufacturers, and local specification community including architects, engineers, and lighting designers
Strong communicator in both verbal and written communication
Ability to develop and maintain trust with clients
Integrity and follow-through
Problem-solving skills and proactive thinking
Team player committed to the company's overall success
Adaptable professional comfortable engaging with various levels of personnel
Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
