The State of Oregon is seeking a Data Center Facilities Engineer to join their Department of Administrative Services. Responsibilities

Providing assistance necessary for the day-to-day operations of the data center
Maintaining and maximizing the security and availability of mission-critical physical infrastructure at the state data center
Understanding and following the processes governing the operations of the State Data Center facility in order to successfully deliver computing, colocation and network services to all state agencies

Required

Six (6) years of information systems experience in: Data Center systems operations; OR
An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience in: Data Center systems operations; OR
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: Data Center systems operations; OR
Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above
Skilled in current Data Center Facility technologies, system and process development methods, and the use of computing resources at all levels
Demonstrated working knowledge of Data Center safety best practices and change management principles
Experience with Data Center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools and support
Demonstrated experience and understanding of mechanical, electrical systems that are used in a Data Center environment including but not limited to: electrical distribution (power Distribution Units or PDUs), mechanical and electrical controls, diesel generators, backup power systems, HVAC systems, fire detection and suppression systems, building surveillance camera systems
Strong technical analytical and documentation skills in a Data Center environment
Ability to operate hand and machine tools (hammer, drill, electrical tools etc.)
Proven ability and skill to clearly explain complex/technical concepts in terms that are understandable for technical and non-technical audiences
Requires demonstrated project management skills
Possesses critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills
Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with superiors, subordinates, peers and other agencies and the public

Preferred

Experience supporting Colocation services in a Data Center environment and/or utilizing DCIM tools for reporting and monitoring systems
ITIL certification is a plus
IDCA Data Center Training certification is a plus (DCIS, DCIE, DCES, DCE or similar)
Sunbird preferred for DCIM tools
Avigilon preferred for building surveillance camera systems
