Responsibilities

Provide day‑to‑day administrative and litigation support for attorneys handling insurance defense and medical malpractice cases
Draft, edit, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and correspondence
Electronically file documents in Florida state and federal courts
Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates
Track all litigation deadlines and ensure accurate calendar entries
Assist with discovery, including drafting, organizing, and processing requests and responses
Organize, update, and maintain both electronic and physical case files
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors
Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, binders, and supporting documents

Required

Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a litigation legal assistant or legal secretary
Strong knowledge of Florida court rules, procedures, and e‑filing systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal case management software
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred

Insurance defense experience preferred; medical malpractice experience highly desirable
Familiarity with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure
Experience managing high‑volume litigation caseloads
Prior trial preparation and deposition coordination experience
