Henderson Scott is seeking a high-calibre Recruitment Consultant for its lateral legal recruiting team. This role focuses on identifying and engaging associate-level attorneys while developing expertise in the lateral law firm market.
Responsibilities
Market map law firms and practice groups to identify high-potential lateral talent
Conduct detailed, consultative phone conversations with associate attorneys to assess experience, motivations, and long-term career goals
Build and maintain a high-quality candidate network within defined legal practice areas
Develop a deep understanding of law firm hiring trends, compensation structures, and competitive dynamics
Work closely with senior team members on client management and business development, with increasing responsibility over time
Progress toward running a fully independent desk once ready, with continued strategic support
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in legal recruitment is essential; familiarity with law firm lateral recruiting is a must
Confident phone presence and the ability to build rapport with high-achieving professionals
Quick learner with the ability to absorb market knowledge rapidly
Highly organized, self-motivated, and resilient
Ambitious, competitive, and driven to build something meaningful over the long term
Preferred
While an understanding of law firm structures, practice areas, and associate-level career progression would be ideal, we are very open to applicants who are keen on this market and want to delve fully into it
