2026 Space Communications and Network Systems Undergrad Intern

They are hiring a Space Communications and Network Systems Undergrad Intern to support the Network Systems Department with trade studies and analyses of communications technologies, as well as the development of network lab infrastructure and physical testbeds.

Responsibilities
Participate in the development and improvement of our network lab infrastructure
Participate in development of physical testbeds that study optical networking
Collaborate onsite or remotely with our experienced networking engineers
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship
Network routing protocol coursework including TCP/IP
Understanding of network simulation and/or networking hardware
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
Transcripts required
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must work well in a team environment
Possess organizational, time management and project management skills
Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need
Interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
Preferred
Active Security Clearance
Optical networking hardware experience
Hands-on experience with networking routing protocols including TCP/IP usage/implementation
Data Analysis
Project experience in developing network architecture
