Research Associate

Responsibilities
Maintaining a reliable molecular screening pipeline to support the discovery, characterization, and development of genome editing applications
Managing a constantly changing workload appropriately and effectively to ensure that project timelines are met
Operating and maintaining molecular laboratory equipment
Ensuring that all materials necessary for production are prepared properly, safely and on time
Documenting details of weekly production data with an ability to analyze and interpret results
Recording pertinent information in proprietary and standard software applications
Participating in new technology development or process improvement studies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field
Ability to work efficiently both independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to follow, develop, and troubleshoot protocols
Deliver high quality results on time
Document experimental data accurately into database systems
Maintain a reliable molecular screening pipeline to support the discovery, characterization, and development of genome editing applications
Manage a constantly changing workload appropriately and effectively to ensure that project timelines are met
Operate and maintain molecular laboratory equipment
Ensure that all materials necessary for production are prepared properly, safely and on time
Document details of weekly production data with an ability to analyze and interpret results
Record pertinent information in proprietary and standard software applications
Participate in new technology development or process improvement studies
Attention to detail and ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks
Demonstrated ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills are required
Self-motivated and goal oriented
Preferred
Minimum of 1 year of related experience, or equivalent levels of relevant education and experience
Experience and working knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, and nucleic acid characterization
Molecular biology experience a plus
Experience with problem solving and process improvement are a plus
Experience with computer systems and standard software programs
