Electrical Engineer - Hamel, MN or Georgetown, TX

Loram Maintenance of Way is seeking an Engineer I, Electrical to develop and maintain electromechanical system designs. This role involves providing engineering support to internal and external customers while coordinating design efforts to meet production schedules.

Responsibilities

Translate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design
Design and integrate industrial automation and control systems including PLC controls, motor controls, and general machine controls
Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors
Validate designs through analysis and testing
Coordinate own design efforts to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates and updates to project team

Required

BS in Electrical Engineering
0+ years experience in developing and maintaining electromechanical system designs
Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials
Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite
Collaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop solutions
Lead design reviews consisting of multi-disciplined and cross functional team members

Preferred

MS in Electrical Engineering
0+ years experience in the following: 480VAC power generation and distribution
0+ years experience in the following: Engine/generator controls
0+ years experience in the following: Industrial automation and controls systems
0+ years experience in the following: Electrical traction systems (DC & AC)
0+ years experience in the following: Motor controls and variable speed drives
EIT
Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software
