The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a Credit & Collections Intern for the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission. This internship offers an opportunity to gain real-world skills in finance and accounting while supporting the Credit & Collections team and participating in professional development workshops.

Responsibilities

Provide support to the finance, credit & collections and operations teams. This includes accurate accounting of weekly agent invoices and corresponding through mail and electronically with agent requests. In addition, this role oversees collection efforts of any outstanding receivables owed to the lottery ensuring all efforts are undertaken to collect funds owed

Coordinate with licensing and accounting units for the establishment, termination, and changes in agent license status

Provide support to the claims department when necessary. This includes the opening and logging of daily mail, paying mail-in claims and organizing department files

Ensure all relevant inquiries are managed professionally and procedures are followed to help promote reliability. This includes collaboratively compiling and maintaining detailed tracking for shared use by department members
