VP, Chief Strategy Officer
Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA. The VP, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) leads transformation efforts to modernize the Innovation Factory and works closely with the President & CEO to execute strategy and manage capital allocation.

Responsibilities
Act as the focal point for Draper’s presence in the National Security ecosystems that spans DOW, IC, Civil, Commercial, Universities, VC/PE, Start-ups,, and state, local communities to include Draper SPARX
Lead all high-ranking customer outreach (defined as Tier 1 and Tier 2 engagements) across the National ecosystem noted above
Lead and coordinate all federal, state, and local legislative engagements as approved by the CEO
Lead and execute the annual strategy refresh process than spans the Draper NXT Vision and Strategy, the Strategic Mission Focus Areas (SMFAs) aligned to our business markets, and Technology Strategy that supports our SMFAs
Lead business intelligence function (to include market analysis) facilitated by a team of budget analysts that support our various business strategies
Develop and execute Draper’s Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process that develops an integrated 5-year business plan linked to the Draper strategies in coordination with the business and functional leadership team
Lead and execute Draper’s New Business Council that allocates strategic capital (IRAD, CAPEX, New Business Funds, etc.) aligned with Draper’s strategies and IBP
Lead DraperSPARX initiative to support the startup ecosystem integration into the National Security ecosystem inclusive of technology scouting to accelerate our Draper NXT Strategy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
20+ years in executive leadership positions in the National Security industry with demonstrated strategy domain expertise
Proven track record of developing disruptive strategic and transformation initiatives that create long-term value to customers, employees, and corporation
Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations, DoD FAR, and USG budgetary processes
Demonstrated experience leading a team in executing strategic initiatives
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences, including briefings to executive management and governance committees
Ability to understand and summarize complex issues
Active US DOD Top Secret Clearance with Secret Compartmental Investigation (TS/SCI) and ability to attain Special Program Accesses is required

Advanced Degree is preferred in Draper's current technology and product base
