This role involves designing and implementing quality systems and processes while initially working as an individual contributor before scaling a team over time.

Responsibilities
Build and operate the quality function from the ground up, establishing processes, metrics, and operating rhythms before scaling headcount
Serve as a hands-on owner of quality systems in the near term, with the opportunity to grow and lead a larger team as the company scales
Design, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including ownership of ISO 9001 certification and support of ISO 27001
Establish disciplined problem-solving and continuous improvement practices across engineering, delivery, and operations
Drive RCA, CAPA, FMEA, FRACAS, and other data-driven methodologies to improve execution and reliability
Lead supplier manufacturing quality programs, audits, and corrective action initiatives
Build strong, data-driven supplier relationships to support failure analysis, corrective actions, and long-term quality improvement
Partner with engineering and suppliers to close feedback loops from field failures back into design and manufacturing
Own fleet-wide field failure, RMA, warranty, and reverse-logistics processes
Establish teardown, failure analysis, and root-cause workflows to drive corrective action and prevent recurrence
Develop and track reliability and quality metrics (MTBF, defect rates, availability, reliability growth)
Design quality data collection and reporting systems that scale with fleet growth
Ensure quality metrics align with customer expectations, supplier accountability, and long-term operational excellence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
10+ years of experience in quality, reliability, or manufacturing environments supporting infrastructure, hardware, or complex systems
Proven experience building and operating a QMS, including ISO 9001 ownership
Hands-on experience with supplier quality, field failures, RMAs, and corrective actions
Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in fast-moving, high-growth environments
Preferred
Experience supporting server hardware, cloud infrastructure, or hyperscale environments
Familiarity with fleet-scale reliability engineering concepts (MTBF, FRACAS, reliability growth)
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement background
Certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQM/OE, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent
Experience implementing quality systems prior to rapid organizational or fleet scale
