Senior Quality Engineer
General Stamping & Metalworks is a leading supplier of stampings and assemblies to the North American solar power industry, and they are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer. This role is responsible for managing quality assurance processes, conducting risk analysis, and ensuring product quality from design through manufacturing.

Responsibilities
Manage quality assurance, non-conformance, and corrective action processes
Provide expert risk analysis skills for quality assurance and expert problem-solving skills regarding customer, supplier, and manufacturing quality issues
Participate in design reviews, product launch, and manufacturing processes to ensure that quality requirements are incorporated from the early stages of product launch
Prepare and review qualification packages (FAI, Gage R&R, PFMEA, capability studies, control plans, process validation)
Lead teams through issue identification, root cause analysis, and verified corrective actions using 8D, 5-Why, fishbone, and process maps
Lead development and validation activities; improve supplier quality performance
Ensure timely supplier failure resolution with corrective and preventive actions
Define incoming inspection needs for supplier materials
Assess and improve internal/external process capability
Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and the customer to assure products meet customer requirements
Work directly with Engineering and Production to develop and validate tooling and processes
Risk minimization through use of appropriate risk assessment tools and verification of the robustness of detection and prevention systems for special characteristics
Provide quality support to the technical and manufacturing teams, as well as drive/support daily operations
Demonstrate practical understanding of manufacturing processes to objectively and independently analyze problems, communicate effectively and facilitate problem solving activities
Develop and evaluate corrective and preventative actions in response to customer complaints
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in ISO or IATF manufacturing quality assurance/ Quality engineering or similar
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
Ability to apply problem solving methodology to positively impact business objectives
Sound knowledge of quality management with in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control disciplines
Experience and proficiency in understanding ISO 9001, IATF 16949 along with knowledge in Statistical Tools and Techniques, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Measurement System Analysis recommended
Possess production operation knowledge and experience relating to manufacturing, inspection, engineering and customer interaction
Strong teamwork and communication skills, a high level of assertiveness as well as entrepreneurial thinking and goal- and result-oriented decision-making skills
Demonstrate practical understanding of manufacturing processes to objectively and independently analyze problems, communicate effectively and facilitate problem solving activities
Excellent interpersonal and documentation skills, be able to produce coherent written documents, maintain an optimistic and supportive attitude; and maintain the strictest confidence regarding all issues and information regarding the company's operations, its employee, financial matters, and personal matters of which the employee may become aware in the course of their work
Maintain competency with Microsoft Office Products, Plex Manufacturing Operations System, Minitab (or statistical sampling equivalent software), and ISO Standards
