New Student Programs, Program Coordinator

Responsibilities
Coordinate and administer first-year and transfer student transition programs throughout the academic year to support student engagement, belonging, and successful adjustment to the University
Plan, organize, and implement major New Student Programs initiatives, including Welcome Week, Panther Connect, Bridge to Success, Spring Welcome, and additional departmental programs that are central to the University’s new student transition strategy
Administer and oversee the New Student Ambassador program, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, payroll coordination, and supervision, ensuring consistent staffing and delivery of core orientation and transition services
Provide advising and functional oversight to student leaders and organizations, including New Student Ambassador committees and Phi Eta Sigma, to support leadership development, program execution, and organizational continuity
Develop and coordinate engagement and community-building programming specifically designed for first-year and transfer students, including social, educational, and co-curricular experiences
Coordinate New Student Programs marketing and communications, in partnership with Student Affairs Marketing, to ensure alignment with divisional branding standards and messaging priorities, and supervise a student employee responsible for executing approved promotional content
Conduct assessment and reporting functions for New Student Programs, including collection, analysis, and documentation of program data to inform decision-making, demonstrate effectiveness, and support institutional reporting requirements
Collaborate with campus and Student Affairs partners to support University-wide transition initiatives, shared programming, and cross-divisional priorities impacting new student success
Provide administrative and operational coordination for New Student Programs, including program logistics, scheduling, communications, and maintenance of required records and documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
3 years of experience
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to support programs that may occur during evenings and weekends during peak programming periods
Experience coordinating student programs or events
Experience supervising or advising student employees or student organizations
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
Familiarity with student transition programs
Familiarity with assessment practices
Ability to collaborate within a higher education environment
Conduct assessment and reporting functions for New Student Programs
Provide administrative and operational coordination for New Student Programs
Ability to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally
Successful completion of a background check
Completion of PA Act 153 clearances and background checks prior to commencement of employment
Preferred
Master's degree in student affairs, higher education, or a related field
