Responsibilities

Conduct in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of therapeutic candidates
Utilize cell and molecular biology techniques, including cell culture, transfection, PCR, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry
Design and execute experiments involving renal cell systems, including primary cell cultures and cell lines, including utilization of CRISPR/Cas9 systems to modify gene expression in cell lines
Execute experiments utilizing different classes of drug modalities including small molecules, biologics and oligonucleotides, among others
Execute experiments and analyze data from in vivo models of renal disease including but not limited to endpoints such as glomerular filtration rate, gene and protein expression from tissue, urine and plasma
Communicate results clearly and effectively with team members and the scientific community through reports, presentations or publications and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance drug discovery and development projects

Required

Bachelor's degree with 4-5 years industry experience, or Master's degree with 0-3 years industry experience in Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
Experience in in vivo pharmacology, including model development and characterization, proficiency in animal handling techniques, different dosing techniques/routes (PO, IV, IP, Subcutaneous), tissue extraction and preparation for downstream analysis
Proficiency in cell and molecular biology techniques, including next generation western blot techniques, RT-qPCR, lentiviral overexpression systems, CRISPR/Cas9 gRNA design and experimentation, primary cell isolation and culture techniques
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with colleagues on research projects and deploy creative analytical and problem-solving skills when necessary

Preferred

Experience with renal cell systems and endpoints preferred but not required
