Start in 2026 SummerWestern Digital is a leading innovator in Enterprise Storage Networking, seeking a Design Engineering Intern for the summer. The role provides students with the opportunity to work on real-world problems in firmware development and collaborate with multiple engineering teams.

Responsibilities
Assist in designing, developing, and debugging embedded solutions
Collaborate with the multiple engineering teams to define requirements and specifications
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Verilog and System Verilog
Debug and troubleshoot RTL issues
Conduct and participate in testing sessions to ensure solutions are robust and maintainable
Document development processes and maintain documentation
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on ASIC development
Must have the ability to work onsite without relocation assistance
Strong programming skills in Verilog/System Verilog
Work with verification team is ensure thorough testing
Preferred
Experience with ASIC simulation tools like VCS, Xcelium, or QuestaSim
Experience with version control tools like Git
