Lending Center Specialist

Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union is seeking a Lending Center Specialist to provide member service regarding loan products and services. The role involves conducting member interviews, matching product solutions to member needs, and achieving lending and sales goals.

Responsibilities

Interviews and interacts with members and potential members via phone, e-mail and other electronic platforms as appropriate regarding Credit Union loan products and services. Uncovers member needs and provides potential lending solutions to assist those specific needs
Maintains a sales-oriented approach to each member/potential member interaction as to provide the best possible lending solutions for the member
Explains the terms and conditions of consumer loan products to the applicant(s) and verifies that loan disclosures are correct and all pertinent paperwork is in place and properly executed
Accurately originates member and potential member loan applications via phone and internet (web applications). Submits completed applications to loan underwriting for final approval
Offers all qualifying members ancillary products available at the Credit Union to include but not limited to vehicle mechanical repair coverage, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), and credit life & disability products. Meets sales metrics for such products
Responsible for outbound calls and solicitation of loan products and services to members and potential members as assigned by management
Maintains a working knowledge of credit reports (reading and interpreting), credit worthiness, and a generalized understanding of loan underwriting standards to better assist loan applicants with customized loan options
Complies with key performance indicators, metrics, and standards such as adherence to schedule, inbound call production, application count (volume), accuracy and completeness of applications, closed loan volume (production) and other metrics as determined by management
Refers, assists, and completes follow up with lending partners (i.e. Credit Union Mortgage Association) to ensure loan closings are complete, resolve any issues, and ensure compliance guidelines are met
Participate in meeting the goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors and Management as well as meeting departmental goals
Develops and maintains detailed knowledge of the products and services offered by the Credit Union
Must have a working knowledge of the overall Credit Union operations computer system and usage
Must be highly proficient in all aspects of Credit Union/Lending Center operations, policies, and procedures to train and assist all staff assigned to the department
Maintain proper security over member information and transactional activity
Must be able to cross sell all CU products and services to our members to increase overall product penetration
On an as needed basis may participate in offsite business functions as a representative of the Credit Union
Balance, verify and review various accounts, reports and systems as assigned by management
Routinely conduct outbound calls to members and non-members in an effort to acquire new business
Performs other duties as assigned by management

Required

High School Diploma
On an annual basis is required to complete mandatory Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and Red Flag Identity Theft training
3-5 years member service and/or lending experience, with at least 1 year general sales/solicitation experience
Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are essential elements of the job
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with members by electronic means (internet chat, e-mail, etc.) and by telephone and must project a positive, professional and cooperative approach when interacting with members
Must possess a general knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to the acquisition and granting of loan products
Must be knowledgeable regarding loan guidelines, procedures, and policies ensuring that the applicants are eligible for the loans requested and the documentation requirements are complete
Must be willing to 'reach out' and call members to solicit new accounts and loan business
Ability to work with a variety of software applications
