Responsibilities
Utilize and maintain state-of-the-art laboratory equipment involved in sample processing, DNA extraction, real-time PCR, and ELISA methods
Analyze samples for, including but not limited to: pregnancy, mastitis-causing pathogens, Johne’s Disease, leukosis (Bovine Leukemia Virus), Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus, Neospora, NEFA, and progesterone; and
Action diagnostic-testing strategies while learning how they benefit herd-management decisions
Qualification
Required
Laboratory experience, preferably with ELISA and PCR methods
Detailed record-keeping and organization skills
Outstanding people skills, with service-orientated attitude
Excellent communication skills
Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, lift, and carry objects up to 50 pounds
A strong work ethic, with ability to work on your own, as well as in a team structure
Preferred
An agriculture or dairy background is preferred, but not mandatory
