Electrical Engineer I/II/Sr.

Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Electric Distribution System for a mid-sized utility company. The role involves designing, developing, supporting, and maintaining the electric distribution system, as well as troubleshooting and resolving system issues.

Responsibilities

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others
Design, Develop, Support, and Maintain, the Electric Distribution System
Troubleshoot and find solutions for system issues
I: Applies basic engineering techniques for entry-level assignments with review and guidance from a higher level
II: Applies standard engineering methods and techniques to solve problems. Moderate guidance and direction provided. Work is normally reviewed from a high level
Sr: Applies a broad range of engineering skills and techniques, leads projects, and provides direction to lower-level engineers

Required

A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline
Two years related work experience
Seven years of progressively responsible experience and understanding in the energy industry utility electric and gas operations, maintenance, design and project management
Ability to apply engineering principles to the development and design of the electric utility system
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
Must be able to effectively communicate, correspond and interact with staff/management and field personnel
Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access
Required to maintain a valid driver's license
Moderate travel requirements (25%)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered
Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks

Preferred

Prior engineering experience in electric utility
An EI (Engineering Intern) or EIT (Engineering in Training) Certificate
Professional Engineering (P.E.) designation
