Field Application Engineer

They are seeking a Field Application Engineer to support customer design cycles, solve complex electromechanical challenges, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to engineering teams across California.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical interface for key customers, building strong relationships with design engineers and technical decision-makers
Partner with Field Sales to develop account strategies that drive design wins and expand business opportunities
Recommend product solutions and guide customers in selecting the right components for their applications
Support custom design efforts for components and value-added assemblies; generate 3D concepts and collaborate with Engineering to formalize designs
Provide first-line support on engineering or quality issues, including root cause investigation and on-site customer support when needed
Maintain a strong understanding of competitive offerings and provide ongoing market intelligence to Product and Marketing teams
Deliver prototypes, samples, and technical collateral; maintain a well-organized library of product literature and resources
Communicate technical requirements clearly and concisely to internal engineering, project management, and customer service teams
Represent the company professionally in the field, cultivating a positive and credible presence with customers

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of experience in electromechanical design or development
5+ years of sales engineering, field applications, or OEM design support experience in electronics
Ability to interpret customer requirements, propose technical solutions, and influence design decisions
Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks strongly preferred)
Strong communication and relationship-building skills; able to engage with engineers and executives alike
Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally (~40%)
A proactive, customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities across accounts

Preferred

Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
