Principal Specialist, Lab Lead

They are seeking a Lab Lead to manage Engineering Labs in North Texas, responsible for overseeing lab operations, ensuring compliance with standards, and supporting the testing and evaluation of products.

Responsibilities
Duties include coordination and execution of SE&TC Engineering Lab requirements
Responsibilities include maintaining and standardizing lab infrastructure, to meet program requirements. Responsibilities also include supporting AS 9100/ISO 9001 audits, DCMA audits and EHS audits
The Lab Lead shall ensure lab personnel operate to standard lab run rules and applicable SE&TC policies within the lab, ensuring compliance with Safety, Quality controls, 6S, FOD/FOE, Equipment Calibration, Raytheon Property controls, ESD controls, Housekeeping, Shelf-life Controls, Preventative Maintenance, and Ergonomics
Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies
Management, coordination, and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety standards
Ensure company and customer owned property is properly tracked, managed, and calibrated
Maintain and improve the lab access list and training matrices, ensuring all personnel entering the labs are properly trained and cleared
Take a proactive role in developing, understanding, and implementing common lab processes, tools, templates, and metrics
Communicate issues and opportunities for improvement to team members and management
Oversee audit assessment preparation; Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Factory & Lab Assessment reviews; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives
Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation
Adhere to the RTX Code of Conduct by exhibiting respect and ethical behavior to serve as a positive role model within the organization
Audits which may include but are not limited to: Environmental Health and Safety, Security, Lab Quality, Customer, and Equipment
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a university degree and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience
Knowledgeable in lab safety and 6S (Housekeeping)
Leadership behaviors and willingness to make decisions and embrace change
Experience with the Quality processes regarding AS 9100/ISO 9001 audits
Managing compliance in an Engineering Lab or similar environment
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
DoD Clearance: Secret
Preferred
Asset Management Systems experience (Aramis and SAP)
Working Knowledge of SI&T lab run rules, policies, and procedures
Knowledge of ESD Controls (Garment control, wrist straps, SSWS, and monitoring)
Experience working directly with engineers, technicians, and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance, and property management
Experience with EHS, NISPOM, and Foreign Object Elimination processes
