Responsibilities
Responsible for specific technical design solutions to meet the client’s needs
Assist in leading planning, design, and coordination of small to large projects
Assist in leading conceptual design and provide full team support throughout the entire project
Perform detailed structural analysis and design for buildings, water and wastewater treatment plant tanks, pumping stations, hydraulic structures, and retaining walls in accordance with pertinent codes and standards
Preparation of design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for construction of new structures and retrofitting of existing structures
Field inspection and confined space entry for structural condition assessment and preparation of technical reports
Perform construction administration duties including conducting on-site observations, preparation of observation reports, responding to RFIs, and review of submittals
Qualification
Required
BS or MS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) approved program with a strong academic background in material behavior, structural analysis, concrete, masonry, steel, aluminum, and wood design
5 or more years of relevant work experience including structural analysis and design of environmental structures
Understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, standards, details, and construction techniques preferred
Proficient in use of AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, Enercalc, and Microsoft Office software
Excellent technical writing skills
Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a team environment while working on several projects simultaneously
Ability to travel (own transportation)
Structural Engineer license in Illinois
