Responsibilities

Perform engineering and design assignments using basic civil/structural engineering principles and fundamental theories learned in a bachelor’s program
Prepare or assist in preparing: Basic engineering calculations and analyses, Material quantity takeoffs and cost estimates, Field surveys and design layouts
Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for materials, services, and subcontracts
Under guidance of a more senior engineer: Review supplier drawing submittals for technical compliance, Support technical bid evaluations and analyses
Assist in the preparation and issuance of: Specifications, Data sheets, Other construction and engineering documents
Provide technical input, markups, and coordination guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters working on the same project
Support project documentation, engineering records, and quality processes as required
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or related discipline)
Typically 0+ years of related civil/structural or general engineering experience (internships or co-ops a plus)
Basic knowledge of engineering concepts in civil/structural or related fields
Familiarity with CAD tools and common PC software packages used in engineering (e.g., AutoCAD/MicroStation/Revit, MS Office)
Ability to learn and apply engineering procedures, standards, and codes under supervision
Strong attention to detail, with good organizational and documentation skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred

EIT/FE certification in progress or completed (or ability to obtain)
Exposure to CAE tools and structural analysis/design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar)
Prior internship, co-op, or project experience related to civil/structural engineering or infrastructure projects
