The role involves providing legal support for personal trust accounts, regulatory relations, and fiduciary tax matters while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Perform legal reviews for all new personal trust accounts to be onboarded to AT and any needed support for SNTs and SPTs
Provide legal support for the closing account process including NJSA preparation for approval of final accounts with a focus on personal trust accounts
Support the Chief Fiduciary Counsel with legal issues and projects
Assist Chief Fiduciary Counsel on litigation matters
Provide legal support on issues that arise during the onboarding, administration, and termination of accounts with a focus on personal trust accounts
Correspondence with Drafting Attorneys & Trust Counsel
Work on regulatory and corporate governance matters
Mentor and assist with the supervision of the Fiduciary Paralegal
Legal support around onboarding and management of LLCs/LPs and other closely held businesses (with assistance from outside expertise)
Conduct legal oversight of ILITs
Provide legal support on matters related to annuities
Oversee and monitor preparation of fiduciary returns by outside CPA firms
Provide legal support to tax liaison on EY relationship
Serve as legal point of contact on all fiduciary tax matters including IRS correspondence and response to IRS notices
Qualification
Required
Law Degree
Active law license in at least one state
Ability to use Microsoft Office software including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Operate effectively in an environment that stresses both individual accountability and team-based performance
Experience with fiduciary matters
Excellent communication skills to confer with employees, clients, and attorneys
Strong interpersonal communication skills, including both verbal and written
Comfortable with operating multiple computer applications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent analytical and logical thinking skills
Takes initiative and adapts easily to a constantly changing environment
Ability to relay complex information understandably to others
Collaborative attitude and ability to lead others
