They are seeking a Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV to support and supervise the maintenance and repair operations at Pasquotank Correctional Institution, ensuring safety and efficiency in facility management.

Responsibilities

Support and supervise hands-on technical work in management routine maintenance and repair operations at Pasquotank Correctional Institution

Assist in screening, interviewing and the selection of applicants; provide on-the-job and outside training; and develop and make adjustments to assignments, schedules and priorities

Participate in maintenance, repair and minor renovation work to buildings, equipment and utility systems

Make recommendations as to the final technical decision in a wide variety of trades; use the Maintenance Management System (MMS), DPS Utility Billing System; and advise management concerning technical aspects of maintaining, replacing or renovating equipment and facility

Draw working plans for minor renovations, security bar work and repairs, cost estimating of repairs and other projects, reviewing and commenting on plan sheets from outside designers and contractors

Monitor and inspect contractor construction and renovation projects, acting as liaison to local officials and regulatory agencies

Inspect the facility for maintenance needs for safety hazards, assist in yearly maintenance audits and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Supervise and handle all special projects assigned from Facility management

Required

Associate's degree in construction management, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology or mechanical engineering technology from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of progressive experience in construction or facility maintenance including two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and five (5) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including journey level experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades including two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities
